Danny Burtenshaw Celebrates 50 Years Of Architecture

Our senior director, Danny, has been actively involved on the architectural landscape now for 50 years having graduated from the University of Sydney in March 1966. He began his career as an architect with the Federal Government and after rising to the position of Project Manager responsible for the procurement of Australian Government Offices in the regional centres of NSW he decided in 1979 that it was time to trust his ability and establish his own architectural practice.

He operated as a sole practitioner for a number of years with his core work being residential and small commercial projects supplemented by commissions in the Public Sector obtained from contacts established while working with the Government and became incorporated in 1988. His daughter followed him into architecture and after graduation she joined him in the practice and from then the Company grew and developed into its current form.

His first institutional projects were at the University of NSW in the mid-nineties and from that inception he developed particular expertise in the tertiary education sector to complement his proven ability in the residential arena. He was joined by George Scoufis in 2002 and together they have developed a practice that has a reputation for delivering projects on budget, on time and to the highest standard.
