The Transformation of Building 15

Building 15 at the University of Technology has steadily been going through a process of transformation with help from the team at Burtenshaw Scoufis.

The most recent fit outs include accommodation for the Animal Logic Academy, Creative Intelligence and Innovation and UTS Start-ups, as well as an upgrade of common areas to provide accessibility and a more student friendly environment. Burtenshaw Scoufis has also assisted in the design and construction of a number of office spaces including Student lead areas such as “The Hatchery” and turned underutilised areas, including the Building 15 Loading Dock, into Student Breakout and Meeting Areas. The existing industrial and raw design aesthetic throughout the building has generally been retained and complimented with natural hardwood timbers and pops of colour. Increased light penetration and transparency has been achieved in the various fit outs with the installation of glazing to develop and enhance visual interest throughout and between the spaces.
