Burtenshaw Scoufis is a small boutique firm led by director George Scoufis with over 30 years experience in the field. Burtenshaw Scoufis is a highly motivated team who have built a reputation for their attention to detail and quality in design. Our client based design style mediates the fine line between function, aesthetic and modern design and building trends.
George Scoufis
Director and Nominated Architect
As a registered architect and director of the practice, George provides a single point of contact for all BSA clients. George has had extensive experience as team leader and superintendent, on a broad range of projects spanning a period of 30 years. It is with this experience that George is able to ensure that all projects are delivered to the highest possible standard.
George has particular expertise in the design of tertiary sector teaching spaces, flexible workspaces, complex laboratories, lecture theatres, simulation laboratories, formal and informal learning spaces and front end strategic planning. As such, George takes a lead role in overseeing all phases of each project and the coordination of his architectural team and all other consultants. George is also well versed in WHS procedures and their practical application on site.

Harry Alexandratos
Senior Architect
Harry joined the Burtenshaw and Scoufis team in 2015 following 15 years’ experience in the profession. Having completed a Bachelor of Architecture degree at UNSW, he has gained experience both in the design environment, as well as on site, managing projects for construction firms. Harry is a Registered Architect in NSW and Green Star Accredited Professional with the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA).
In the previous 10 years at BSA, Harry has developed strong experience in the tertiary education sector. He has designed, managed and delivered a range of projects from technical and complex engineering facilities, laboratory and health spaces, and hi-tech teaching and workspace environments.
Harry has strong grounding in the construction, engineering and services industries with an understanding and passion for transferring inspirational design ideas to the built realm without loss of design intent.

Veronica Chan
Graduate Architect
Veronica completed a Masters of Architecture Degree at the University of New South Wales in 2015, during which she was named on the Dean’s List of Academic Excellence. Veronica began work with BSA as a student of Architecture and since that time she has been involved on numerous projects, focusing on design presentation, design detailing and documentation.
Veronica is well versed in CAD documentation, 3D modelling and presentation techniques. She has worked on a variety of projects throughout her time with BSA, including residential, multi-use and educational facilities. Veronica is a member of the Green Building Council of Australia and a member of the Future Green Leaders Program.

Glen McClelland
Senior Architect
Glen studied science and architecture at Newcastle University getting a double degree over six years, one of which he worked as an architectural student and travelled the world extensively. He has been working with BSA now for around ten years, and his role as a senior registered architect is to assist in all manner of project types going through the office. He pushes through documentation at any stage of the project to meet or exceed client expectations. He has prepared large-site measure-ups, development approvals, technical details, model fly-through and attended many client and user group meeting
Glen’s best skills are being an all-rounder and thoughtful architect. He is talkative and adept at current regulations and construction methodology. He is creative and a big concept thinker. He comes from a long family lineage of architects. He is passionate about the history of Australian architecture, it’s formation and influences. He is interested in providing our services to research organisations, educational facilities and the residential sector. He enjoys preparing computer models as they are a precise and good documenting tool. He hopes to one day, obtain a successful balance between the built and natural environments,

Zoe Scoufis
Graphic Designer and Marketing Manager
Zoe is currently studying a Bachelor of Design in visual communication at the University of Technology Sydney. She thoroughly enjoys her work and intends to complete an honours year in 2025. She has a wealth of experience working in design from university societies to numerous internships. She is also an award-winning artist and designer including mentions from the Australian Graphic Design Association. At BSA, Zoe manages the graphic design needs of the practice, including social media management, web design management and print graphics.
Her passion is art and design, and she is always looking for new skills to creatively document the world around her. She focuses on illustration, web design and UI/UX design specifically, but she is always looking for new ways to expand her skills and become a better designer. She has a strong interest in how design can be used for good and use to improve the lives of others.

Nirav Ghediya
Architectural assistant and BIM Manager
Nirav completed a Bachelor of Architecture from India and has completed building design from TAFE NSW. He began work with BSA in 2021. Nirav is a dedicated Architectural Assistant with a passion for integrating technology into the design process. As a BIM Manager, he brings expertise in Building Information Modelling (BIM) to streamline project workflows and enhance collaboration among multidisciplinary teams. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to innovation, he strives to leverage the latest tools and methodologies to deliver high-quality architectural solutions.
Karolina Sherack
Office Manager
Karolina has over 20 years experience in office administration and working in the design and building industry. She has qualifications in both Business Administration and Interior Design which has given her valuable knowledge and understanding which has enabled her to provide office support to businesses in the design and building industry. At BSA her role as office manager is to support the Directors and ensure the smooth running of the BSA studio. Her main skills are Office management support and a commitment to maintaining a positive and efficient workplace at BSA.
Born in Copenhagen, Denmark, she has a passion for Danish Design and admires Danish Architects and Designers past and present who have created timeless innovative design both in Architecture and Furniture design. She enjoys working with others who are also passionate about Architecture and Design. At BSA her appreciation for Architecture continues to grow and she loves that she gets to work alongside talented architects who show a deep commitment in creating innovative design solutions. Estrella Sandoval
Senior Consultant
Estrella joined the BSA team in 2022, bringing with her 12 years of professional experience. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Chile and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Technology Sydney, which she completed in 2019. In recent years, Estrella has focused on the education sector with BSA, contributing to projects for Macquarie University, University of Technology Sydney, and Western Sydney University.
Estrella demonstrates a profound understanding of building materials, construction techniques, and local regulations. Her discerning eye for aesthetics and design, coupled with strong communication skills, allows her to effectively engage with clients, comprehend their needs, and create designs that precisely meet their requirements. Throughout collaboration with engineers and other consultants before, during, and after construction, Estrella consistently ensures that BSA maintains high-quality project deliveries.

Natasha Burtenshaw
Director
Natasha graduated with a double honors degree in Architecture from the University of Sydney in 1996. She has worked with the firm as a student then as a graduate on a mix of residential and commercial fit-out projects. Her work has also included contract work as a consultant heritage architect and tertiary study in adjacent fields. Natasha works remotely as a director and provides advice on design projects at various stages of execution.
